01 – Overview: Verification Tests of UQD/UQDB per OCP¶
Purpose¶
This project collects the basis for lab verification of our own quick disconnects against the Open Compute Project specification for Universal Quick Disconnect.
The goals are to:
- Interpret and clarify the test requirements of the specification so they can be performed unambiguously in the lab.
- Plan all tests, sample quantities and test sequences for the product range.
- Track gaps, contradictions and decisions in the specification until they are resolved.
- Prepare the basis for a Supplier Verification Report (§15.3.1), which is required to mark the products "Dimensional & performance requirements conform to OCP UQD Specification 2.0.0" and to be listed on the OCP Marketplace.
Role: Quick-disconnect manufacturer (QD supplier) performing its own verification tests as well as cross-verification against other suppliers.

Hybrid (UQD plug mated to UQDB socket) is a third configuration in the specification. Whether it is included is an open decision, see 04-Backlog BS-002.
Common main requirements: max operating pressure 6.89 bar(g) (100 psi), min burst pressure 20.68 bar(g) (300 psi), 5000 coupling cycles and operating temperature +5…+65 °C.
Test set-up in brief¶
The specification divides the tests into two groups (§9):
QD Property Tests (9.1) – run in parallel on separate samples
Burst · Fluid Loss · Force to Connect · Pressure Drop · Seal Washout
Thermal / Mechanical Cycling (9.2) – run in sequence on the same samples
Helium → Non-Op temp → Helium → Op temp → Hydrostatic → Mechanical cycling 5000 → Hydrostatic
Cross-verification (§10) – Fluid Loss, Force to Connect, Pressure Drop and Seal Washout against at least 3 other suppliers.
Sample size: 5 per test and configuration for own verification, 3 for cross-verification.

Conventions
- All documentation is written in English. Chat answers are in Swedish.
- Files are numbered in reading order (NN-Name.md). New documents get the next free number.
- References to the specification are written as §section or Table/Figure no.
- Open questions are recorded only in 04-Backlog and referenced by ID (e.g. ER-001) from the other files.
- Units: mm, bar(g) and psi(g) unless stated otherwise.

Next steps¶
- Decide on the high-priority backlog items, above all BS-001 (burst pressure), BS-007 (SA offset) and BS-008 (scale factor).
- Prepare an equipment and fixture list per test.
- Prepare test instructions for the remaining tests, using 05-Pressure_Drop_9.1.4 as the template.
- Contact three suppliers for cross-verification (BS-006).
